Paceline Collision Systems, a leading provider of collision repair services, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of corporate controller.
CORPORATE CONTROLLER JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Corporate Controller is the principal accounting manager and will be responsible for financial reporting, corporate accounting policies, technical GAAP research and analysis. This executive will be the primary interface with all external auditors. The Controller is also responsible for the shared service accounting functions, income tax compliance and financial planning and treasury and risk management. An exceptional level of ethics and independent judgment is required.
•Set the strategic direction of the global accounting functions by aligning the accounting function goals with the Company's strategic goals;
•Act as a resource for the operational teams to help evaluate business opportunities, including assistance in identifying recommendations for business solutions and opportunities;
•Anticipate internal and external reporting changes and business requirements to ensure processes, organization and financial systems appropriately evolve to support the business;
•Provide input to Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team on assessment and mitigation of risk.
•Oversee and direct the comprehensive system of financial reports to provide corporate management and the Board of Directors with value added financial reporting and analysis to drive effective decision making by management;
•Develop and implement accounting policies and practices that meet GAAP rules as well provide meaningful and consistent financial results to management;
•Ensure consistency and quality of judgments and financial reporting; Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting policies in other departments;
•Act as a liaison with independent auditors by actively managing the external audit relationship in a way that optimizes its value to the company;
•Direct and oversee the monthly review of all store financial statement reporting packages, ensuring compliance in accordance with GAAP and including review of revenue recognition methodologies and practices;
•Ensure all external communications accurately reflect business results, meet the standard of transparency, and meet all GAAP requirements.
•Drive annual cost productivity gains through process re-engineering, and best practice benchmarking;
•Monitor the operating results and budgets and make recommendations regarding cost reductions and profit improvements.
•Recruit, develop and coach a talented team of accounting and finance professionals;
•Provide dotted line oversight over the accounting/control professionals in the divisions and other extended finance groups;
•Monitor performance and provide continuous feedback to staff and develop career paths to retain staff members.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: General Accounting, Project Accounting, Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Taxation, Treasury, Risk Management, Payroll and Financial Planning.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
•Minimum of 15- 20 years' experience is preferred, preferably in both private and public accounting areas.
•Previous experience as an Controller preferred
•Bachelor's degree with Accounting concentration and professional accounting qualification is preferred
•Expertise in US GAAP including the ability to research issues, document conclusions and discuss with management and the Company's independent auditors
•Strong experience in reviewing account reconciliations and fluctuation analyses and reviewing revenue recognition methodologies
•Demonstrated ability to lead, manage a team and drive continuous process improvement
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and others
•Strong business judgment to assess complex situations with multiple issues and drive appropriate actions
•Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills
•Ability to analyze large amounts of data, determines root causes of problems, recommend actions, and drive the implementation of those actions independently
